Ann Taylor's First Campaign in Nine Years — the Newsletter Came Six Months Earlier
Ann Taylor launches 'This Is Ann,' its first integrated campaign since 2017. The real lesson of this brand relaunch is sequencing: the newsletter came first.

Oscar Mayer is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Wienermobile with a limited-edition birthday cake from dessert chain Milk Bar.
The 27-foot hot dog-shaped vehicle extends the brand's summer marketing push through a social-forward campaign.
The Wiener Cake will be available at Milk Bar locations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago from July 31 to Aug. 2, while supplies last.
It is a hot dog-inspired take on Milk Bar's signature Birthday Cake:
In addition, fans turning 90 during July and August can visit a dedicated landing page for the chance to receive a visit from the Wienermobile — connecting the vehicle's 90 years to a person's 90th birthday.
What makes the collaboration interesting is that it was a trend-data decision.
Per press materials, Google searches for "hot dog cake" are up 150% year over year.
Oscar Mayer did not create a meme — it laid brand equity on top of one that already existed, finding the intersection between a 90-year-old asset and an internet-born trend.
Hannah Santangelo, group creative director at Zeno Group, said:
"Our goal was to celebrate the Wienermobile's legacy in a way that felt fresh and culturally relevant — taking an internet-born trend and turning it into an integrated campaign that spans social, experiential and earned."
The campaign was developed by Zeno Group and is focused on earned media. Kraft Heinz's in-house marketing shop, The Kitchen, is captaining social media and creator efforts.
It rides the coattails of the Wienie 500, a Wienermobile race held ahead of Memorial Day.
The cake effort is part of a larger turnaround strategy by Kraft Heinz, which paused plans in February to split its grocery and condiment businesses.
The CPG giant increased marketing investment 37% year over year in Q1, with plans to continue investing throughout the year.
Strategic partnerships have been integral to the turnaround.

Use search trends as campaign evidence. "Hot dog cake searches up 150%" is both internal justification and execution rationale. This is riding a meme on data rather than instinct.
Attach old brand equity to new trends. Combining a 90-year-old Wienermobile with an internet meme produces freshness neither element had alone — a structural advantage available to brands with heritage.
Build scarcity into the design. Three cities, three days, while supplies last is a device for generating conversation. Physical constraint is fuel for social spread.
Design for earned media. The cake is not a sales target but a mechanism for producing coverage and shares. For a similar approach that turned a job posting into a campaign, see Snickers Is Hiring a 'Chief Online Chill Officer'.

After pausing its grocery and condiment split in February, it raised Q1 marketing investment 37% year over year. Strategic partnerships are central, including a long-term Walt Disney Company deal and becoming the NFL’s first global condiment partner.
