Naver Shopping Cuts Fixed Ad Placements — Product Quality and Response Decide Position
Naver reduced fixed ad slots in mobile search shopping results, expanding organic listings based on user response and relevance after four rounds of testing.

YouTube has opened its YouTube Shopping affiliate program to creators in the UK, the next step in its in-app shopping push. Eligible creators tag products featured in their clips and earn commission on sales driven by those links.
The program launched in 2022 for creators in regions including the U.S., Thailand and India, but the initial bar was steep: profiles needed more than 20,000 subscribers. YouTube has lowered it steadily, reaching 500 subscribers as of March. The same threshold applies in the UK — any channel eligible for the YouTube Partner Program, meaning 500-plus subscribers, can join.
"We're bringing the YouTube Shopping affiliate program to eligible creators in the U.K.," YouTube said. "When you join, you'll be able to tag products from our partner merchants via Wayfair, Currys, Debenhams, Boots, M&S, Etsy directly in your videos, Shorts, and live streams, and earn revenue when your fans buy on the retailer's site." Creators also get supporting features such as timestamps, which prompt viewers to shop at the exact right moment.
YouTube has been building in-stream shopping to drive direct sales for brands and open monetization paths for creators. In his 2026 overview, CEO Neal Mohan named expanded in-stream shopping a key focus as the company works to make YouTube "a premier shopping destination." Habitual in-app shopping still looks some distance away, but widening the affiliate program is a concrete step.
If you sell through UK retail partners, revisit how creator campaigns are compensated. There is now another channel where performance-based commission can replace or supplement flat fees — and because the bar is 500 subscribers, micro-channels with sharp category expertise enter the candidate pool alongside large ones.
Measurement matters here too. Tagged links close the loop between views and purchases inside the platform, so creator commerce performance that used to be estimated can be reconciled against retailer-site conversions. Consider performance-based commission structures alongside flat fees, and widen the roster to smaller category-expert channels now that the eligibility bar is 500 subscribers.
