LinkedIn has announced a wide set of updates to help creators earn from their content. LinkedIn creator monetization isn’t just a creator story, though — for B2B advertisers, it means new inventory and new ways to work with creators.
Pre-roll ads on creator videos, no partnership required
LinkedIn is testing pre-roll ads on creator content:
- Marketers can place ads alongside topically relevant creator and publisher videos.
- No pre-established partnership agreement is needed — creators opt in to make their content eligible.
- Creators receive a share of the ad revenue from promotions shown with their content.
It builds on BrandLink and Thought Leader Ads, but removes the need for a deal up front. LinkedIn is also testing direct monetization for creators, with details to come.
Better creator search in Creator Marketplace
New Creator Marketplace filters let brands sort creators by audience focus, expertise, preferred content formats and more, shortening the time it takes to find the right partner.
Paid 1:1 Advice Sessions and pinned comments
- Advice Sessions let Premium subscribers offer free or paid one-on-one consultations from their profile, with secure payment on LinkedIn. Profile verification is required. It’s live for U.S. hosts now, with an experts showcase page coming.
- Pinned comments are back after a brief 2022 rollout, letting authors highlight a helpful reply and steer discussion.
- LinkedIn is also rolling out an updated profile insights dashboard, private notes on connections and reach-boosting options for Premium All-in-One subscribers.
What B2B marketers should do now
B2B buyers research long before they talk to sales (see B2B buyers start researching 124 days before talking to sales). Placing ads next to trusted creator content during that research window lets brands borrow expert context without negotiating individual deals. For finding the right creators, read LinkedIn tests Creator Discovery.
If your executives are recognized experts, Advice Sessions could turn consultations into a lead channel. The earlier a brand builds credibility in LinkedIn’s creator ecosystem, the more of this new inventory and trust it will capture.
