Instagram has added a Threads sharing sticker for Stories, giving users another way to boost exposure for Threads posts. The feature was first spotted in screenshots shared by creator Jonah Manzano.
How it works
When creating a Story, users can pick the Threads sticker and choose from any Threads posts they have previously liked or saved, including their own. The selected post is then placed on the Story frame. It mirrors a recent Threads quote post update that also lets users overlay posts as stickers, though that option works with shared images.
Separating apps, lingering links
The feature arrives as Threads works to stand on its own. Last month, Meta said advertisers running campaigns on Threads will no longer need an Instagram account, and Instagram data is no longer used to inform a user’s Threads interest graph. Some connection between the two apps clearly remains, and that is what enables this cross-posting option.
How brands can use it
Bring Threads posts into Stories
Sharing your best-performing Threads posts as Story stickers can steer Instagram followers toward your Threads account, which is especially useful for brands still building a Threads audience.
Highlight customers and partners
Because you can share other people’s liked or saved Threads posts, the sticker can resurface customer feedback or partner mentions in Stories. Add a short note for context so the post is not misread.
What this means for marketers
It is a small feature, but it lets brands grow Threads as its own channel while borrowing Instagram’s reach. If you run both, reserve a slot in your weekly Story plan for Threads shares.
