Snapchat makes its holiday pitch
Snapchat has announced the Snapchat Commerce Power Pack, a bundle of performance advertising tools aimed at the holiday shopping season. The goal is to turn product discovery into purchases faster. Citing TransUnion data, Snap says Snapchat drives a half-day faster time to conversion than other major social platforms. It will promote the suite through a “Spend Smarter” campaign in the U.S. and UK this month.
Four parts of the Commerce Power Pack
Dynamic Product Ads for Sponsored Snaps
The headline change extends Dynamic Product Ads to Sponsored Snaps, placing catalog product ads directly inside Chat — Snapchat’s most-used surface. AI recommendation models decide which products to surface. It is available globally to all advertisers.
Value Optimization
Campaigns can optimize for return on ad spend, focusing on the purchases that drive the most value rather than raw conversion counts. It is in beta for web and app advertisers and works with Unified Attribution, which expanded globally last month.
Third-Party Web Optimization
In open beta, this combines first- and third-party signals to optimize toward the third-party purchase outcomes advertisers already use to evaluate performance. In a test with Google Analytics, advertisers saw 23% lower third-party cost per purchase and 37% higher third-party ROAS.
Omnichannel Optimization
Now in alpha, it captures purchases across web and app within a single campaign, based on where a shopper is most likely to convert.
Leadership change and results
The launch follows the departure of Chief Business Officer Ajit Mohan, who became CBO in February 2025 and led a revamp of Snap’s ad suite toward performance products. Ronan Harris, who led Snap’s EMEA business for almost four years, has been named chief commercial officer, overseeing global ad sales and go-to-market. Snap’s Q2 revenue rose 19% year over year to $1.6 billion, while ad revenue grew 9%.
What advertisers should take from it
The measurement story matters most. Third-Party Web Optimization tries to align Snapchat’s optimization with the outside benchmarks advertisers already trust, following the same direction as Snapchat opening Unified Attribution to all advertisers. Product ads inside Chat also sit in a personal space, so creative tone and frequency deserve careful control.
If you are finalizing holiday budgets, compare the pack with Meta’s updated holiday marketing guides. And rather than expecting the 23% and 37% test results by default, run a small test measured against your own third-party benchmarks first.
