Creator-Led Campaign at Global Scale: How Marriott Bonvoy Went From Brief to 23 Destinations in Four Weeks

Creator-Led Campaign at Global Scale: How Marriott Bonvoy Went From Brief to 23 Destinations in Four Weeks

Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s cross-brand loyalty program, launched a new global platform in September — “Wherever life's journey takes you, we'll see you there.” The bigger story is how it was made: a creator-led campaign that went from brief to delivered assets in just four weeks.

10 countries, 23 destinations, 14 brands

Creators captured content across 10 countries, 23 destinations and 14 Marriott hotel brands. The campaign includes more than 1,600 out-of-home placements worldwide; in-flight entertainment and OOH run through year-end, and social assets continue into 2027.

“To be able to capture content around different properties scattered around the world is really a logistical and operational challenge,” said Behnaz Ghahramani, Marriott International’s SVP of global marketing.

Reaching travelers at the airport

The timing targets Q4 travel, when people are already in a travel mindset. Per Nielsen data shared by the brand, 71% of travelers think about their next trip while at the airport, and about 77% of flyers take an action during or after their trip after seeing an airport ad.

Borrowing a creator operating system

Instead of contracting creators directly, Marriott worked with Beautiful Destinations, an agency with more than 50 million followers and a network of over 650 creators. Its founder called Marriott Bonvoy the first major travel brand to integrate the agency’s creator operating system as a globally scaled production partner.

Less polish, more real moments

The creative brief asked for content that felt more intimate, more relatable and less overproduced — crumpled sheets, a meal caught mid-bite. Rather than slicing one master asset for every channel, creators captured content for each destination with channel requirements in mind. Ghahramani called it “a test” that “wasn’t perfect at all times,” but an unconventional approach to content creation.

Relationship over points

Bonvoy recently passed 300 million members. Marriott runs almost 40 brands and more than 10,000 properties across 148 countries and territories. Results will be judged through brand lift studies, attribution models and marketing mix modeling.

Takeaways for marketers

  1. Use creator networks for multi-location shoots. Brands with dispersed locations can cut timelines and travel costs by working with agencies that already have local creator pools.
  2. Write briefs as scene rules. Spell out what “authentic” looks like rather than leaving it vague.
  3. Shoot per channel from the start. Capturing vertical, horizontal and OOH formats on location reduces rework. For where creative time really goes, see Creative Operations at Scale: 25M+ Ad Assets Show Only 6 Hours of a 10-Day Cycle Is Actual Production.
  4. Pair brand lift with business attribution. Measurement options are covered in Influencer Marketing Measurement Is the Hardest Part for Two-Thirds of Marketers.
