Coach builds its fall campaign around music
Coach has made music the center of its fall push through a global Spotify partnership. The streaming platform is launching a Live Your Story hub where listeners can discover playlists and share a personalized listening persona. The experience connects individual music taste with Coach's Tabby bag and its broader storytelling platform.
Four films feature Elle Fanning as a bus driver who picks up musicians including PinkPantheress, Soyeon, Lilas, and Shan Yichun along with Gen Z fans. The story moves the characters from isolation toward shared camaraderie through music, while customized Tabby bags use concert-ticket charms to link product and theme.
Spotify personalization becomes a physical tour
Coach and Spotify are turning the vehicle from the ads into a real Tabby Tour across campuses and venues in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea. Stops will include live performances, artist conversations, product customization, photo booths, and collectible merchandise. QQ Music supports a related experience in China, alongside expanded work with Bilibili.
The structure resembles Express's full-funnel combination of fashion, music, and sports: discovery in media moves into participation and product experience.
Measuring a Gen Z experience strategy
Coach's premise is that Gen Z wants less passive screen time and deeper real-world connection. Spotify hub traffic alone will not test that idea. The campaign should connect persona shares, tour-map use, event attendance, customization, and subsequent interest in the Tabby line.
Parent company Tapestry said Coach's fiscal 2026 revenue increased 24%, while marketing investment rose about 20% year over year. The campaign is therefore an upper-funnel investment in unaided awareness and sustained customer acquisition, not only a short-term sales activation.
